Leicester Buddhist Society
The Leicester Buddhist Society, established in 1978, is possibly the oldest Buddhist group in Leicester.
We meet on Friday evenings at fortnightly intervals at the house of one of our members in Oadby. Meetings start at 7:45 pm, and finish at around 10:00 pm, and include meditation and Dhamma discussion. As a general Buddhist group, we welcome Buddhists (and interested non-Buddhists) of all persuasions. Dhamma discussions generally rotate around the major Buddhist schools – Theravadin, Zen and Tibetan. Usually, we study a text from one discipline for a number of weeks before moving on to a different school.
Dates for our forthcoming meetings in 2020 are as follows:
3 January | 17 January | 31 January | 28 February |
14 February | 13 March | 27 March | 10 April |
24 April | 8 May | 22 May | 5 June |
